THE INTERSECTION OF SPIRITUALITY & SOCIAL JUSTICE
On Saturday, July 24, Cristina gave a talk for the Reflect & Reset event in downtown LA on the intersection of Spirituality & Social Justice and the need to bridge these two spaces more intentionally. Cristina has spoken and written on this topic & usually poses the question: "if spirituality doesn’t include a healing justice approach that centers the most oppressed then who is it for?” These are tough questions that Cristina helps us to unpack, adding nuance and real life examples throughout.
Cristina was invited as a guest speaker at the Richmond Youth Council in March 2021.
THE FUTURE OF FEMINISM
Cristina was invited to speak at the Richmond Youth Council’s 3-part series on feminism. Cristina brought her own experiences to the talk, breaking down some of the disconnects with the concept of feminism in communities of color as well as sharing her journey and answering many questions for the young leaders in Richmond, CA. It was a real pleasure to meet such inspiring young leaders with such critical awareness of the world and of themselves.
